How to make delicious Caribbean Sea Moss gel
Hello and welcome!
The first step into making delicious sea moss gel is making sure you have purchased genuine ocean sea moss. Here at Green Madame's Shop, we always have the highest quality wild crafted sea moss. Both our Irish and Caribbean Sea Moss are sustainably hand harvested from the ocean. Unfortunately, there are many sellers providing consumers with pool grown, mineral deficient dehydrated sea moss and sea moss gels.
- Key limes or lemons (preferably organic)
- Alkaline water (spring water)
- Caribbean Sea Moss
To make 16 oz of gel you'll need a gram of sea moss which is equivalent to about about half a cup.
Depending on the consistency you are thriving for, you can add more or less water.
Wash your sea moss thoroughly with alkaline water, remove any ocean debris. I wash it about 2-3 times, dumping and replacing the water with each wash.
In a large bowl, preferably glass or stainless steel, place the washed sea moss and add about double the amount of alkaline/spring water. Cut 2 large limes in half and squeeze the juice in the bowl, put the lime rims in as well and let it re-hydrate for 12-20 hours in room temperature. No more than 24 hrs or it will spoil.
Dump out the water, wash sea moss one more time, place it in the blender along with 1 cup of alkaline/spring water. Blend until smooth, pour it into a glass container and let it sit in the fridge for at least 2 hours before your first consumption.
Enjoy and share with the whole family!
